Call for Submissions

Established in 1989 for the best original, unpublished research in the field of psychogeriatrics, the IPA Awards for Research in Psychogeriatrics have encouraged the pursuit of relevant and important research efforts. In conjunction with the other activities of the International Psychogeriatric Association (IPA), these awards have succeeded in helping to lead the way towards the important goal of improved mental health care for older persons around the world. Past award winners include many scientists who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in the field. Awards have been given for currently acknowledged groundbreaking work that has benefited the health care professions throughout the world. Papers are now being solicited for the ninth biennial IPA Research Awards in Psychogeriatrics-2005 competition. Awards will be granted solely on the merit of the research presented by junior investigators. Participants’ prior experience and previous accomplishments do not influence the outcome. Researchers from all cultures and nations are encouraged to apply.

The ninth biennial IPA Awards for Research in Psychogeriatrics presentation will be held during the 12th International IPA Congress, 20-24 September 2005, in Stockholm Sweden. Winners will receive a commemorative award and a travel stipend enabling them to attend the IPA International Congress and present their papers. The winning papers will be published in a special section in an issue of International Psychogeriatrics, the IPA quarterly peer-reviewed journal that is distributed worldwide.
