IPA turns its attention to Rio and Montréal. Why
not attend both?
The excitement is mounting as IPA
prepares for two very exciting
international meetings in South
and North America.
Our members and colleagues will
have a great opportunity to visit the
western hemisphere and experience
two famous cities that are packed with
history and culture.
First we have Rio de Janeiro, one of
the most vibrant and beautiful cities in
the world. Our meeting venue in Rio is
second to none, and, Brazil is known
among world travelers for providing
memorable experiences. High energy
and an excellent opportunity for learning
will make Rio a not-to-be missed
meeting. Please see pages 6-7 for
more information.
Next up, Montréal, the city with oldworld
charm and wonderful French-
Canadian cuisine. A modern city that is
full of wonderful shopping and attractions
including the old quarter. The
meeting venue in Montréal will rival
that of our last Congress in Osaka,
Japan —-a significant achievement.
Please do not miss this event; you can
read more about it on pages 8-9.
Of course, both Rio, 4-7 May 2009,
and Montréal, 1-5 September 2009 will
have a cadre of experts who are prepared
to bring us up-to-date with the
state-of-the science developments in
psychogeriatrics. Much of the research
and clinical developments, often summarized
in the IPA Bulletin by Robert
Barber and Robert Baldwin, will be on
the Montréal Congress meeting agenda.
Expert panels, as well as regional initiatives,
are planned at the Montréal
Congress.
Finally, the timing of the IPA meetings
will provide us assurance of lovely
weather and good value in booking
travel and lodging to Rio and Montréal.
Who could ask for anything more? For
more information, view the IPA web
site pertaining to meetings, and, examine
carefully this issue of IPA Bulletin.
The Bulletin and web site has lots of
information about planning for these
meetings. I hope to see all of you later
this year at one of these two meetings.
Or, why not consider attending both?
Cheers!
