IPA Affiliate Organizations

The International Psychogeriatric Association (IPA) encourages affiliation for all related multinational, national, regional and local organizations that share a common mission that is, the advancement of clinical practice, research, and education to improve the mental health of the elderly. IPA values the increased impact that a coalition of related organizations can achieve, and invites all related organizations to affiliate to IPA. Together, we can achieve measurable improvements in the mental health and well being of our elderly around the world.

The principal criterion for affiliation is that these organizations be comprised of professionals concerned primarily with activities germane to, or related to, those of IPA.

Organizations granted affiliate status will realize many benefits, including:

  • opportunity to interact and collaborate on an international basis on key issues of geriatric health with IPA and other organizations whose missions are to improve geriatric mental health;
  • participation in the Presidents Forum - a discussion with representatives of IPA Affiliate Organizations from around the world and the IPA Board of Directors;
  • permission to use the IPA Affiliate Organization logo and the statement "Affiliated to IPA" on their letterhead;
  • one annual membership in IPA, with full benefits and voting privileges;
  • one complimentary registration to the IPA Congress for one representative from the Affiliate Organization;
  • the opportunity to list their meetings on the IPA calendar;
  • publicity in IPA publications; and more.

Organizations interested in learning more about the IPA Affiliate Organization program and applying for affiliation to IPA should contact the IPA Secretariat at ipa@ipa-online.org.
