Better Mental Health for Older People

Healthcare Community - Shared Interest Groups

Social Workers

IPA’s Social Workers SIG is a forum to raise awareness of social work, social factors, social science relating to geriatric mental health issues which aims to promote the mental health of the aged, through the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of mental illness.

It is an exciting opportunity to share unique perspectives and challenges with colleagues from everywhere in the world.

Strategies and activities will emerge to assist not only other social workers but also our colleagues across disciplines and, most importantly, older people themselves. IPA will facilitate the development of a network and communications structure which will support the sharing of experiences, information and knowledge as well as documenting professional social work. To ensure that the Social Workers SIG is well organized we are looking for colleagues from the discipline who are willing to apply their expertise, enthusiasm, and organizational skills to developing this SIG in cooperation with IPA.

In order to ensure a well-organized SIG, we are seeking colleagues representing Social Work to lend their expertise, enthusiasm, and organizational skills to work with IPA to develop this SIG. For more information about the Social Workers SIG Agenda in the near future, please download this brochure.
